Why a whole house beats three hotel rooms
Booking a group into a Vancouver hotel usually means three or four rooms on different floors, breakfasts at separate tables and no shared space to end the day in. A whole home fixes that. At Golden Hour HQ everyone gets a bedroom, the kitchen and dining table become the meeting point, and the rooftop deck is where the group ends up every night.
How the space works for a group
- Four bedrooms over two storeys. Couples, kids and early risers can spread out, so nobody ends up on the sofa.
- Two bathrooms, one with a walk-in rain shower, so mornings move.
- A dining table that seats eight and a full kitchen with a breakfast bar. Cook a proper group dinner, or lay out takeout from West 4th.
- In-suite laundry with an LG washer and dryer. On a week-long trip with kids, this is the feature people thank us for.
- A living room with a smart TV for game nights and the inevitable hockey game.
- A private 1,400 sq ft rooftop deck with city and mountain views: the group's own patio, with a pergola lounge and dining for eight, a BBQ station for group dinners, and a sauna and cold plunge for the morning after a long day out.
- Fast wifi throughout for anyone who has to dial in.
Who books it
Families who want the grandparents, the kids and the cousins under one roof, near beaches that work for every age. Friends' trips built around Vancouver's restaurants, patios and a night at Rogers Arena. Wedding parties staying together and getting ready under one roof before the big day. And work and sports teams in town for a project, a tournament or a stretch at UBC, which is a straight run west along Broadway.
Planning a group stay in Vancouver
A few things that make group trips here easier:
- Getting around: West Broadway is one of the city's main bus corridors, with frequent service downtown and out to UBC. Kits and Jericho beaches and West 4th are walkable, so most days the car can stay parked.
- Groceries and meals: there are grocery stores and markets close by, and Granville Island's public market is worth one trip for a group feast.
- Splitting up for the day: beach people, shoppers and the museum crowd can all head off on foot from the house and meet back for dinner.
- Longer stays: choose "Longer stay" in the form below and tell us what you're planning. We'll quote you directly.
House basics
Golden Hour HQ sleeps a maximum of eight guests. It's on a residential street, so it's a house for staying together, not for hosting: no parties or events, quiet hours from 10pm to 8am, and the rooftop closes at 10pm. It's a non-smoking home and pets aren't permitted. It's a licensed short-term rental (BC registration H246924377, City of Vancouver business licence 26-254631), so your booking won't be pulled out from under you. The exact address on West Broadway is shared once your stay is confirmed.
Booking direct means you deal with the host from the first message and skip the platform service fee. Send your dates and group size below. For more on the area, read things to do in Kitsilano or see the full Kitsilano vacation rental page.
