Why stay in Kitsilano
Most Vancouver visitors end up downtown, in a tower, a long way from the parts of the city locals actually spend their weekends in. Kitsilano is the opposite. It's a neighbourhood of tree-lined streets, independent cafés and beach paths, where the ocean sits at the end of the road and the North Shore mountains fill the skyline. West 4th Avenue and West Broadway are the two main strips, and between them you'll find bakeries, yoga studios, bookstores, Thai and Lebanese kitchens, ice cream lines and patios that stay busy well into the evening.
Staying here means your days start with a walk to coffee rather than a drive. Kits Beach and Jericho Beach are an easy walk or a few minutes by bike, Spanish Banks and Locarno are a short ride further west, and downtown is a quick bus or drive across the Burrard Bridge when you want it.
The house
Golden Hour HQ is an entire home, not a room in someone else's. You get the whole place to yourselves:
- 4 bedrooms across two storeys, so couples and kids each get a door to close.
- 2 bathrooms, including a walk-in rain shower.
- A full kitchen with a breakfast bar, and a dining table that seats eight.
- In-suite laundry (an LG washer and dryer), which matters more than people expect on a longer trip.
- 1,400 sq ft inside, bright and freshly furnished, with a living room and smart TV for the evenings in.
- A private 1,400 sq ft rooftop deck with city and mountain views, set up as a second living room: a sauna and cold plunge, a pergola lounge with dining for eight, and a BBQ station. Sunset in Vancouver runs past 9pm in early summer, and this is where you'll want to be for it.
- Fast wifi throughout, so a work call doesn't mean leaving the house.
The house sleeps up to eight guests, with self check-in. It's a quiet residential street, so there are no parties or events, quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am, and the rooftop closes at 10pm. It's a non-smoking home and pets aren't allowed.
Where it is
The home is on West Broadway in Kitsilano. We share the exact address once your stay is confirmed. Broadway is one of Vancouver's main transit corridors, so buses into downtown, out to UBC and across the city stop close by, and West 4th Avenue is a short walk north. If you're driving, the beaches and Granville Island are only minutes away.
Is Airbnb legal in Vancouver?
Yes, when it's done properly. Short-term rentals in Vancouver need a City of Vancouver business licence, and since 2025 British Columbia also requires every short-term rental to carry a provincial registration number, shown on every listing. Platforms are required to remove listings that don't have one.
Golden Hour HQ is a licensed short-term rental.
BC short-term rental registration: H246924377
City of Vancouver business licence: 26-254631
Whatever you book, in Vancouver or anywhere in BC, it's worth checking that the listing shows both numbers. A licensed place won't get cancelled on you mid-trip.
